The Most Effective Way to Clean Sliding Door and Window Tracks

One of the toughest cleaning jobs is to get rid of the dirt and grime on sliding glass doors and their tracks and windows. You may find all sorts of bugs, and dirt amalgamate in the smaller spaces.

To ensure you get them perfectly clean, we have some expert tips from our cleaning friends at The Cardiff Window Cleaning Company:

What you need:

White vinegar, a spray bottle, paper towel, a damp cloth, baking soda, white vinegar and a toothbrush.

Step 1: Begin by sprinkling some baking soda down on the tracks making sure you get plenty into the corners.

Step 2: Fill up the spray bottle with equal amounts of water and vinegar. That will make a potent cleaner. Shake that mixture up and spray it on the areas you put the baking soda on. Let that sit for two minutes or so. You will see a chemical reaction when you spray it down (bubbling)

Step 3: Once the bubbles from the reaction have died down, you can begin scrubbing with your toothbrush. It’s best to work all the dirt to the middle so that it is easier to clean up.

Step 4: Use the paper towel to get rid of the dirt you have accumulated.

Step 5: Use the wet rag to wipe down the track.

It is best to clean your window and door tracks annually. This will ensure the dirt build up never gets too bad.
