Kitchen Organizing Tips
Kitchen Organizing Tips – Organizing kitchen space is important whether you have a small or large kitchen. Small kitchens can benefit by keeping everything that’s in tight quarters organized and easily accessible, while leaving plenty of work space for creating delicious meals. Larger kitchens benefit in a slightly different way, in that being organized keeps the abundance of workspace and appliances manageable for use at any given time. You don’t have to complete a massive overhaul to achieve some order in your kitchen, simply put the following kitchen organizing tips and tricks into place and you’ll see a transformation.
Dedicate some shelf space
The first thing to accomplish is to get rid of the unnecessary appliances that are currently strewn upon your countertops. If you don’t use the coffee machine or the food processor very often, then put them into a cupboard that you can easily access for sporadic use.
Clear the cupboards
Organizing kitchen cupboards is important. You can do this by taking everything out of the cupboards and placing it on the counters. Everything that has been in the cupboard for more than three months and anything you don’t see yourself using in the next few weeks should be donated to the food bank because these are obviously products that are doing nothing but taking up space in your cupboards.
Priorities
Before putting everything back into your cupboards and straightening up your spice jars, decide which products are used more than others and put them away with this in mind. Let’s face it, cupboards don’t allow you to store everything so you can easily see and grab it at all times, so put the stuff you don’t use as often in the back. Another trick is to keep the healthier items in the front so you are likely to use it more often.
What to do with the extra space
While you will certainly want to keep some free space as it is, consider using some of the free space for things that can help keep your space clean and free of clutter. For example, you can add a small basket to the wall or on the counter in the kitchen where you can throw important papers or mail, so it doesn’t end up on the counter itself. Hang a fruit basket, get a spice rack, or even install a bread box. Before you know it you’ll see why organizing kitchen space is so important.
