How To Clean A Resin Floors?
How To Clean A Resin Floors? – Resin flooring, which comes in tiles or strips, is made from a PVC resin compound compressed under high pressure and temperature. As with laminates, a photographic image gives the look ofa wide range of natural materials, including stone, wood, terracotta and metal: the effect is extremely lifelike but also warm underfoot and water-resistant. Resin flooring is non-porous so it is very suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. It can, however, be expensive when compared to other floorings, such as vinyl, and generally needs to be fitted professionally. Amtico is the best-known make.
Care and cleaning
Use castor cups or felt pads under furniture legs. Sweep regularly to prevent dust and grit scratching the surface. Damp-mop once a week or as necessary, using a mild detergent. lf you like a slightly shiny surface, apply a specialist dressing (available from your supplier). The floor must be clean when the dressing is applied, and any excess dressing must be removed with a specialist product, also available from your supplier.
Resin floors are the most suitable in the shower room and kitchen. Instead of a specialist dressing you can use Wheelers Natural Wax Floor Polish. This is made from carnauba wax and is extremely easy to apply. After cleaning the floor, pour a small amount of wax (the recommended amount is 1 eggcupful for 2 square metres) and spread it evenly over the floor with a damp mop or cloth. Allow to dry without polishing. It gives a protective coating and a semi-gloss finish. It is easily removed with hot water – no need for specialist removers.
